Ed Hogan

I’m a retired (as of January 2012) computer programmer that specialized in mainframe and Web based reporting applications. In the mid 1990’s I became interested in Web technologies; taught myself HTML, basic JavaScript and PERL. I leveraged these skills to convert my business partner’s mainframe batch reporting applications to a menu driven Web based application.

During the 2005 through 2008 timeframe I became  enamored with Linux, more specifically Ubuntu and now Linux Mint. At that time I had two desktop computers that run only Linux, a laptop and a netbook that are dual boot – Microsoft Windows XP and Linux. I keep Windows around only to keep my Tomtom GPS unit updated – otherwise I’d ditch Microsoft Windows altogether.

Since 2014 I have migrated from Linux to Apple’s macOS amd iOS platforms exclusively.
