Salisbury Steak With Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1/3 cup Plain Bread Crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Onions
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 thlsp Worcestershire Sauce, divided
  • 2 cps Beef Broth
  • 1 large Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Sliced Mushrooms
  • 3 tblsp Cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp Water

Preparation

  • Combine Ground Beef, Bread Crumbs, Chopped Onion, Egg, Garlic Salt, Pepper and 1 tblsp Worcestershire Sauce in a bowl until evenly mixed. Shape into 4  3/4 inch thick patties
  • Fry patties until browned, about 5 minutes per side
  • Add Beef Broth, 1 tblsp Worcestershire Sauce, Onions and Mushrooms, bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer about 10 minutes. Transfer patties to platter and keep warm.
  • Bring Onion mixture to a boil. Mix Cornstarch and Water, stir into Onion mixture. Cook until sauce has thickened.
  • Poor sauce over patties and serve
