Oven Baked Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients

  • 6 Chicken Drumsticks
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Parsley Flakes
  • 1 tsp dried Rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Mustard
  • 1/4 tsp Coarse Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 420F.
  • In a small bowl or measuring cup mix together all the Seasonings, then set it aside.
  • Pat Chicken Drumsticks dry with a paper towel and trim any excess skin.
  • Place Drumsticks in a large (gallon size) ziptop bag, add EVOO. Zip close the bag and shake to coat Drumsticks with EVOO.
  • Add Seasoning Mix to bag, close and shake until Drumsticks are well coated.
  • Line a baking sheet with Parchment Paper cut to size. (Or use aluminum foil sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.) Put a baking/cooling rack on top of the parchment paper.
  • Place Drumsticks on baking sheet, then place on middle rack of oven for 40 minutes turning over at 20 minutes.
  • Chicken must have an internal temperature of 185-195F for the meat to be tender and moist.
  • Let Drumsticks rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes:
  • Seasoning the Chicken can be done an hour or so before baking to let the Spices work their magic.

  • Make a batch of the seasonings mixture and store is an empty grated cheese jar. Here are the measurements for about 1/2 cup:
    – 4 tbsp Paprika
    – 4 tbsp Garlic Salt
    – 2 tbsp Onion Powder
    – 2 tbsp Parsely Flakes
    – 2 tbsp dried Rosemary
    – 1 tbsp Ground Mustard
    – 2 tsp Coarse Ground Black Pepper
